Radiation assessments
Easterly Point can perform radiological surveys and provide radiological assessment reports, as may be required as part of the DA process.
In July 2018, the Department of Environment and Science (DES) released the updated Queensland Auditor Handbook for Contaminated Land, Modules 1 – 6 (DES, July 2018). Where a radiation assessment is conducted as part of the contaminated land investigation document (CLID), a specific radiation expert support statement is now required as part of the audit certification process.
Marc Salmon, Easterly Point’s principal environmental scientist and accredited auditor (NSW and Qld) is a contaminated land radiation specialist, and can provide expert support to clients, auditors, and consultants alike in the area of radiation assessments and management.
Marc has been involved in the assessment and management of radiological impacted sites since 2005, completed the ANSTO Advanced Radiation Safety Officer training in 2017 and is a member of the Australian Radiation Protection Society (ARPS).
